Qatar denounces the commercial blockade of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates to the WTO

The Government of Qatar has filed a complaint with the World Trade Organization (WTO) by the commercial blockade imposed on the country by Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, accusing Qatar of supporting terrorism. Qatar's representative to the WTO, Alwaleed Ali al Thani, explained exclusively to Reuters that have formally requested "consultation" with these three countries, the first step for the opening of a dispute before the WTO. This request is started within 60 days for the litigation is resolved or, otherwise, there will be a dispute that could lead to trade sanctions. Qatar also denounce the blockade at the meeting of the International Civil Aviation Organization held this Monday, explained Al Thani. They faced the Gulf Quartet Governments of Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain and Egypt announced in early June rupture of diplomatic relations with Qatar, accusing Doha of "supporting terrorism". Tensions between Qatar and the so-called Quartet Gulf have worsened in recent weeks following the agency official Qatari news, QNA, published a statement by the emir in which he criticized the stance of the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf against Iran and spoke of "tensions" with the United States. Immediately afterwards, QNA has reported having suffered a hacker attack and denied the veracity of the published note, despite which means Saudi Arabia and the UAE continued to report on alleged statements Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. This has drawn criticism from Doha, which led to several countries --Arabia Arabia, UAE, Egypt and Bahréin-- to block access to various Qatari media, including Al Jazeera. Relations between Qatar and other Gulf countries have already suffered a period of tension in 2014 due to alleged support from Doha to Muslim Brotherhood, outlawed organization in most Gulf countries. However, on that occasion the measures were not as hard and only involved the withdrawal of ambassadors. This time, it has also meant the expulsion of nationals and closing roads to transport arrived from Qatar.
